Class offered on emergency prep for seniors

SCAN Health Plan and Ventura County Public Health will jointly offer an emergency preparedness class for seniors at 10 a.m. Tues., Aug. 4 at the SCAN Senior Resource Center, 1001 Partridge Drive, Ste. 200, Ventura.
Steven Johnston, an emergency preparedness specialist with Ventura County Public Health, will discuss how seniors can prepare to take care of themselves for three to five days after a major disaster and what they need to do to survive a natural or man-made disaster.
The program is free and open to all seniors, not just SCAN members.
