Congregation B'nai Emet will hold its monthly Family Shabbat service at 7 p.m. Fri., Aug. 7 at the synagogue, 9 W. Bonita Drive, Simi Valley.

Rabbi Michele Paskow will lead the service with singing and Sabbath prayers. A puppet show will be presented, and children will be able to participate throughout the program.

The congregation's discount membership sign-up will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sun., Aug. 9. The Men's Club will host a free kosher barbecue dinner.

Those interested in learning about the synagogue, religious school, preschool and other programs are welcome, as are returning members.
