The Simi Valley Education Foundation awarded five, $1,000 scholarships to local students to attend college, technical or vocational schools.

The 2009 scholarship recipients are Danielle Harding of Apollo High School, Tasha Moore of Royal High School, Wendy Cabanas of Santa Susana High School, Michael Peddycoart of Simi High School and YunShun Zhou of Moorpark College.

The foundation also awarded three, twoyear community college scholarships of $1,000 per year to students enrolling in a local community college each fall.

The 2009 endowment recipients are Victoria Robles of Royal High School, Nick Romeo of Santa Susana High School and Laura Zepeda of Santa Susana High School.
