Eight young women will compete for the Miss Simi Valley 2009 and Miss Teen Simi Valley 2009 titles at 5:30 p.m. tomorrow, July 11 at the High Street Arts Center, 45 E. High St., Moorpark.

The contestants will compete in the categories of interview, talent, on-stage question, evening wear, community service and teens in scholastic achievement.

The following women are competing. All contestants are from Simi Valley except where noted.

Miss: Danielle Rice, 19, California Lutheran University and Moorpark College, daughter of Angela Robinson; Evangelina Lopez, 18, Moorpark College, daughter of Mandy Nickerson of Palmdale; Juliet Buff, 18, Moorpark College, daughter of Jeanne and David Buff; Dani Amoroso, 22, Moorpark College, daughter of Jerry and Pat Amoroso.

Teen: Shelby Herzig, 17, High School at Moorpark College, daughter of Eric and Valerie Herzig; Theresa Capozzi, 16, Royal High School, daughter of Chuck Capozzi; Megan Thomas, 15, Simi Valley High School, daughter of Marc and Denise Thomas; Alexa Noone, 14, Simi Valley High School, daughter of Dennis and Lenore Noone.

The Miss Simi Valley Scholarship Foundation promotes scholarship, education and the talent of the contestants.

Scholarship funds are contributed by corporate sponsors and individuals.
