Message to family of boy killed in 2007 accident
      To the Hansen family: I'd like to express my deepest sympathy for the loss of your son Travis. I send my condolences, although late, I know. I have come to realize how much time has passed. I hope I am not too late to send this letter. I wanted your family to know I think about Travis all the time.

      I am a frequent Candlelight guest. Being in my 20s, this is probably the best place that Simi Valley has to offer for the 21-plus crowd. Like many of the residents, I often have to travel outside of our great city to find any form of night life.

Safety belt bemoaners should bite their tongues
      The letters regarding seat belts and the police enforcement are quite interesting, but misguided, to say the least. There are a couple of good reasons to object to the police using bikes in the street to catch people not wearing a seat belt, such as it being dangerous and illegal. The police do not have an exemption to all laws at all times.

      I attended a meeting on June 8 which was held by the city of Simi Valley for approximately 30 concerned residents on excessive dog barking. It was chaired by City Council member Barbra Williamson.

Sometimes noisin the backyard is born of love
      I write because my heart tells me to. My first comment is dogs bark, kids scream, that's life, that's family. Unless neighbors spend time in each others homes, they are unaware of what others hear and see. In most neighborhoods, the homes have very small backyards and most have pools.
