The Rotary Club of Simi Sunrise recently awarded $13,000 in academic and vocational scholarships to nine high school students in Simi Valley.

The scholarships are awarded annually to graduating seniors based on coursework, future plans, community involvement and financial need.

Following are the 2009 scholarship recipients and the amount and type of award.

Apollo High School: Victoria Harbaugh, $750 vocational; Chelsie Rogers, $2,000 academic.

Royal High School: Tasha Moore, $750 vocational.

Simi Valley High School: Anna Billski, $2,000 academic; Monica Esswein, $2,000 academic; Daniel Reshew, $2,000 academic; and Devyn Chesser, $750 vocational.

Santa Susana High School: Amanda Crane, $750 vocational.

Trinity Pacific High School: Steven Page, $2,000 academic.
