Alzheimer's Association relocating

On July 1, the office of the Alzheimer's Association in Camarillo moved to a new location.

The new home for the California Central Coast Chapter's Ventura County office is at 80 Wood Road, Ste. 302, in Camarillo.

The agency's new telephone number is (805) 485-9412.

The new office is about a mile south of the 101 Freeway from the previous office, 1339 Del Norte Road, in Camarillo.

The move is expected to save the nonprofit about $2,000 a month on rent for nearly the same amount of office space, said Norma Featherstone, area director.

The association is on good financial footing but is seeking to cut expenses, she said.

The Alzheimer's Association provides a variety of free services for caregivers and Alzheimer's patients, including care consultation, a 24-hour hotline and educational programs and support groups.

The association is supported by grants, donations and annual Memory Walk events in the fall.

The agency plans no staff layoffs and will continue to offer the same range and level of services to caregivers and Alzheimer's patients, Featherstone said.

An open house for the new office is planned for 4 to 7 p.m. Thurs., July 16.
