Council should appeal decision on Candlelight
As someone involved as a citizen since early March on the Candlelight restaurant/bar, I was surprised at the Planning Commission's latest action. I was surprised to see how many people were for the project moving forward, including one of the harshest critics they had.

People shouldn't be forced to wear their seat belts
Federal ClickIt or Ticket enforcement is just another sneaky way to pick the pocket of the average working guy in order for local law enforcement to get their fair share of the federal pie. Selfrespecting law enforcement officers ought to be ashamed.

Seat belt sting not a good use of officers' time
Simi Valley is cracking down on seat belt compliance. Research from the California Office of Traffic Safety (OTS) shows 95.7 percent of California drivers use seat belts. If you are a user, do whatever it takes to get help. 2.

Battle over barking rages on
Congratulations, James George, concerning your letter about Simi's barking dog situation ( Acorn , June 12). In all my years on the planet I've never seen one person take one issue and so totally trash it with falsehoods, derogatory remarks and outright lies.

Why not the faceto-face approach?
I'm moved by what appears to be swift action by the city as well as a continuing stream of letters from concerned citizens about barking dogs. It gives me hope that my own neighborhood problems will be addressed as well.
