Doreen Morgan Westlake Track Club member Doreen Morgan of Simi Valley placed second in the javelin event at the National Senior Olympics.

The competition, organized by the National Senior Olympic Games Association of Pasadena, included several Olympic sports. It brought in more than 2,000 athletes 50 years or older.

Morgan, trained by Antonio Colella, placed second in her class by throwing the javelin 20.17 meters, or 62 feet.

Morgan is scheduled to compete at the USATF National Championships July 9-12 at Oshkosh, Wis.
