Break-in at Simi Adult School

A Simi Valley teenager was arrested Mon., June 22 after he allegedly burglarized and vandalized the Simi Valley Adult School.

Police officers responded to a silent burglary alarm at 1880 Blackstock Ave. at 3:36 a.m., according to police reports. A light was on inside an office and a man was seen moving inside.

When police ordered the suspect to come out, Mason Linder, 19, ran out a back door.

An officer tackled Linder to the ground without injury after a short pursuit. No other suspects were found inside the school.

A window was broken to gain access to the offices. An estimated $4,000 in damage was sustained from broken equipment and several fire extinguishers that were discharged inside the building.

The offices had been ransacked and money was taken, all of which was recovered, police said. Linder was booked for burglary at East Valley Jail. There are no outstanding suspects.
