Simi Valley Tea Party and Independence Day Freedom Rally, "Re-declaring Our Freedom," will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sat., July 4 at Rancho Simi Park Amphitheater, 1765 Royal Ave., Simi Valley.

The event will have live music, speakers from a Southern California Internet radio show and a local veteran, followed by an open microphone for all who wish to voice their opinions.

An open picnic for all who wish to attend will follow the rally.

The goal of the organizers is to provide a platform for citizens to come together to inspire participation in the growing movement for a return to constitutional principles, individual liberty and freemarket ideas. The event is nonpartisan, and organizers have neither invited any elected representatives to speak nor solicited funds from political parties. All participants are volunteers.
