Pageant winner to speak out on SIDS

Sabrina Hayes Simi Valley resident and reigning Mrs. Ventura County International 2010 Sabrina Hayes will compete for the Mrs. California International Crown on Sept. 11 and 12 at the Downey Civic Center.

Hayes was also named the spokesperson for the Josephine DeMello Foundation, a nonprofit organization based in Camarillo.

The foundation was formed in 2008 after the death of 6-month-old Josephine (Joey) DeMello to educate the general public about SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome) and to support affected families.

The foundation raises funds through events and public donations to help fund SIDS research.
