Steve Murphy Legal Production Service is a locally owned and operated business.

It began operations in Simi Valley in 1989 when it was founded by Theron Murphy, a Simi resident since 1968.

Murphy founded LPS after he spent several years as president of an estate planning company in Westlake Village. Murphy's son, Steve, joined LPS after spending more than 10 years with the law firm of Thompson, White, King & French in Santa Clarita.

Theron Murphy died in December 2008. Steve Murphy continues as president of LPS and carries on the personalized service to clients.

The company's focus is assisting people in planning their estates through the use of living trusts.

LPS offers a free initial consultation to discuss estate planning goals and how a living trust can help meet those goals and prevent lengthy, costly and unnecessary probate.

In addition to the living trust, LPS prepares other essential estate planning documents and assists with the transfer of assets into trust. LPS also provides consultation and guidance for carrying out a trust after a loved one has passed on.

The staff is professional, friendly and speaks Spanish.

Steve Murphy, who volunteers his time as a youth basketball and soccer coach, was raised in Simi Valley and is a 1983 graduate of Simi Valley High.

He and his wife, Shauna, have been married for almost 20 years and have five children.
