Public's input sought on power line proposal

      The California Public Utilities Commission has agreed to hear local residents' opinions on a 3.5-mile power line project slated to run through the Tierra Rejada Valley. Southern California Edison's Presidential Substation project— so named because of its proximity to the Reagan Library in Simi Valley—is now under review by the CPUC.

Pursuit leaves officer with injuries
      A Lancaster resident fled police after being pulled over for a red light violation, resulting in a collision on an offramp which sent the Simi Valley police officer to the hospital. On June 11, Robert Wood, 18, of Lancaster was stopped by Officer Jeffrey Quatararo at Rosemary Street and Whitcomb Avenue for an alleged red light violation.

Signs offer differing spellings
      "Please note that the Tonopah Court street name signs in the Indian Hills area of Simi Valley are spelled differently. The sign as I drive south on Yosemite is Tonopaw Court, while the sign driving north is Tonopah Court.

New animal rescue group serves smaller breeds
      Tiny Loving Canines (TLC) has joined other animal welfare organizations in Simi Valley. TLC is a dog rescue organization which specializes in small breeds under 15 pounds. Its founders have more than 30 years of experience in rescuing and rehabilitating dogs.
