Group seeking to bring Vietnam Wall replica to Westlake Village
Pierce Brothers Valley Oaks Memorial Park will host an informational meeting for individuals and groups seeking to help bring the Dignity Memorial Vietnam Wall to Westlake Village over Labor Day weekend. The meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. Wed., June 17 at Pierce Brothers Valley Oaks, 5600 Lindero Canyon Road, Westlake Village.
The threequarterscale traveling replica of the Vietnam Wall in Washington D.C. will be presented Sept. 4 through 7 at the memorial park. It is expected to attract close to 100,000 visitors.
Each year the fauxgranite replica crisscrosses the country, allowing visitors to see and touch the black, mirrorlike surface inscribed with the names of more than 58,000 Americans who died or are missing in Vietnam.
The exhibition is sponsored by Pierce Brothers Valley Oaks, with the support of area veterans groups and civic organizations.
