A number of recreational programs are available for seniors age 50 and up, such as games, sports, fitness, educational, dance, music, computers and crafts and hobbies.

All programs, unless otherwise noted, will take place at the Simi Valley Senior Center, 3900 Avenida Simi.

•The Grandparent & Me class will make Father's Day special gifts from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Sat., June 13. The fee is $5.

•Basic ballet will meet from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. seven Mondays, June 22 through Aug. 3.

The fee is $35. Ballet shoes are recommended.

•Silver and turquoise jewelry making Beginning 1 class is a basic introduction. The class is from 1:30 to 3 p.m. on seven Fridays, June 26 through Aug. 14.

The intermediate class will cover soldering and design techniques and clay casting. The class meets from 3:15 to 4:45 p.m. seven Fridays, June 26 through Aug. 14.

The registration fee is $50 and the lab fee is $25 for either class.

•A trip to the Ventura County Fair will be Tues., Aug. 11. Board the motorcoach in Simi at 9:45 a.m. Bus departs from the fair at 3:30 p.m. and arrives back at 4:30 p.m.

Guests will explore the fair on their own.

The cost is $20 and includes fair admission. Reservations are due by Aug. 4.
