UCLA doctors will oversee NICU at Simi Valley Hospital

The physicians of the UCLA Department of Neonatal Services/ NICU will oversee the daily operations of Simi Valley Hospital's new Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

Effective immediately, Michael Mah, M.D., will be the interim medical director of neonatal intensive care services until the UCLA physician group chooses a permanent medical director.

The care unit is the first of its kind in Simi Valley and is a special nursery for babies born prematurely and/or with special medical needs.

Mah has more than 25 years of experience. He received his medical degree from UC San Francisco, and completed his pediatrics residency and a fellowship in neonatology through the UCLA School of Medicine.

He is also the neonatal intensive care unit medical director at Los Robles Hospital and Medical Center in Thousand Oaks.
