Royal High choir will be part of Memorial Day festivities in D.C.
Chorale group of 80 students will sing backdrop for Lee Greenwood during parade telecast on PBS
      Eighty Royal High School students are in Washington, D.C., this weekend after their chorale group was chosen one of the premier in the country. The group auditioned a year ago and learned in June 2008 they would represent California in the National Memorial Day Chorale Festival at the JFK Center of Performing Arts.

Boo scares up scholarship
      Geobio K. Boo of Royal High School has received second place at the national level in the Elks National Foundation's annual Most Valuable Student scholarship program. The Simi Valley Elks Lodge No. 2492 sponsored Geobio. Geobio will receive $10,000 per school year for his college education for a total of $40,000.

Volleyball camp has star backing
      The Sinjin Smith and Randy Stoklos Beach Volleyball Camp is a grass-roots youth camp that teaches children the fundamentals and strategies of volleyball with the techniques and philosophies used by professional players Smith and Stoklos.

Students recognized by Reagan Foundation
      The Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation honored 82 Ventura County high school seniors at a recognition dinner May 13. The event at the Reagan Library in Simi Valley included the presentation of $50,000 in college scholarships to 15 students and a talk by Gary Foster, a former communications officer with presidents Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush.
