2 more arrested in ongoing counterfeiting investigation
      Two Simi Valley residents were recently arrested as the result of an investigation regarding counterfeiting money, according to police reports. Detectives from the Simi Valley Police Department and the U.S. Secret Service served a warrant at 7:30 a.m. May 14 at 4142 Felipe Lane in response to an ongoing counterfeit currency investigation.

Car containing out-of-town gang members crashes into tree
Three arrested after loaded shotgun found inside vehicle
      Three Moorpark gang members were arrested in Simi Valley on Saturday night after one of the men crashed into a tree on Lemon Drive, police officials said. The incident is at least the third gang-related incident that has been reported in Simi since February.

Local man completes CHP training
      Riley Beckinger of Simi Valley has successfully completed California Highway Patrol cadet training and is assigned to duty at the CHP Newhall Area office. Beckinger is a 2002 graduate of Palmdale High School. Before joining the CHP he was an assistant manager for Hunt Enterprises.

RV storage facility gets OK from council
Large vehicles will be using residential streets to enter business
      On May 11, the City Council approved the construction of an 84-space recreational vehicle storage facility near First Street despite concerns over RV traffic coming down residential roads to access the business. Councilmember Steve Sojka apologized to residents, acknowledging it's not an ideal situation for the council or the neighborhood.
