Sunday is free day at Simi landfill
Residents of Simi Valley may dispose of residential rubbish for free from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sun., May 17 at the Simi Valley Landfill and Recycling Center, 801 Madera Road.
Appliances, clean concrete and asphalt, clean wood and greenwaste and construction or demolition material will also be accepted for recycling.
Items that will not be accepted include commercial and hazardous waste, liquids, tires, televisions, household batteries, computer monitors, electronic waste, products containing mercury or fluorescent light tubes.
The event is for residents and nonprofit organizations only.
Residents are asked to separate recyclable material from rubbish.
Residents will be asked to unload their own vehicles.
The CHP requires all loads to be covered to prevent spillage.
Proof of residency, such as a driver's license, will be required.
