Moorpark College seeking cast members for plays

Moorpark College Theatre Arts Department will host auditions for two upcoming shows from 3:30 to 6 p.m. Mon., May 11 in the Studio Theatre of the college Performing Arts Center, 7075 Campus Road, Moorpark.

Callbacks will be from 6 to 10 p.m. Tues., May 12.

The summer production will be "Nice People Dancing to Good Country Music" by Lee Blessing and directed by John Loprieno.

The play is described as a "slapstick comedy, with budding romance between an exnun and a young cowboy."

The fall production is Thornton Wilder 's Pulitzer Prize-winning play "The Skin of our Teeth," directed by Los Angeles casting director and Moorpark College Theatre Arts instructor Eileen Kennedy.

Auditions are open to the community. High school students are encouraged to participate in the summer production, which offers experiences in marketing, set and prop construction, wardrobe, makeup, running crews and performance.

All cast members must enroll in the three-credit hour course "Theatre Arts M10, Production and Performance" for the semester they are in a play.
