Kiwanis gifts will deliver cuddly comfort to hospital's young patients
STUFFED WITH LOVE—Judy Bertoniere, left, Kiwanis Club of Santa Susana treasurer; Eric Cohen, Kiwanis Club president, and Susan Connor, Simi Valley Hospital Emergency Department director, show off some of the 120 Beanie Babies that Kiwanis Club members recently donated to the hospital. The toys will be distributed to the children visiting the ER. The Kiwanis Club of Santa Susana recently presented a gift of 120 Beanie Babies for the child patients in the Emergency Department of Simi Valley Hospital.
"Supporting local charities, especially when it involves children, is a longstanding tradition with Kiwanis," said Eric Cohen, club president, who added, "We are completely dedicated to making the world a better place for our children."
Bam, a pink-and-blue ram, and Sunray, a baby blue sunray, were delivered to the ER recently by Cohen and Judy Bertoniere, the club's treasurer.
"What a wonderful gift to comfort little ones coming into our care," said Susan Connor, ER director. "These colorful reminders of compassion make the emergency department a little less scary for our littlest but most precious patients."
