Group will address council regarding barking dogs
      My previous letter concerning barking dogs in Simi Valley resulted in a very good response from residents. Now we have a new county director of Animal Control. This is an encouraging sign for the county of Ventura.

Public employees unions are sucking California dry
      Regarding tough love, I could not agree more. We have reached our limit. If you haven't heard, businesses and people are leaving California; they can no longer afford to do business or live here. Our state government's spending has been out of control for years.

Neighbor of Arroyo grateful for cleanup volunteers
      The volunteer group who recently donated their valuable time in cleaning up the arroyo deserves our thanks. I was amazed to actually hear frogs "singing" from my backyard. These are the sounds of a healthy environment. My wife and I have lived in Simi for than 20 years; what a great town and community.

A license doesn't mean a dog is disease-free
      I was reading the Letters section of the May 1 Acorn when I read Bruce Kammerich's letter, "Concerned about lack of licensed dogs at dog park." While I license my animals to be compliant with the law and I also believe that responsible pet owners should license their animal, I don't think licensing is the real answer to Mr. Kammerich's concerns.

Please obey the posted rules at the dog park
      I, for one, am so tired of reading complaints about the Simi Dog Park. We here in Simi Valley are very blessed to have the dog park. Even with all the budget cuts, the park district still chose to follow through with building it and making all the necessary adjustments.
