Concerned about lack of licensed dogs at dog park

I would like to comment first about how nice the new dog park is. The park has some wonderful amenities, but it also has one thing that I believe should be addressed, that being unlicensed dogs.

I was walking around the park last Saturday and did an informal survey of the dogs there. As best I could figure, at least half of the dogs had no visible license.

I stopped taking my dog to the Thousand Oaks dog park because I'm sure he contacted kennel cough there, even though he was inoculated against it.

The number of unlicensed, and quite possibly unvaccinated, dogs once again gives me pause about taking my dog to the Simi park to play with possibly sick dogs.

I would like to see animal regulation make some unannounced visits to the park and cite these people for their unlicensed animals. I love to have my dog at the park, but the health and safety risk of interaction with unvaccinated dogs cannot be overstated. Bruce Kammerich Simi Valley
