The Humane Society of Ventura County will host a fundraiser and pet adoption from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sun., May 3 at the First Street Arena between Nonchalant Drive and Challenger Park in Simi Valley.

The event is sponsored by Bridle Path Homeowners Association, Santa Rosa Valley 4-H Club and Conejo Valley Arabian Horse Association.

At the event residents may donate various items used by the Humane Society in caring for its animals. Donations may be dropped off at the event, or residents may call for a pickup for large items at (805) 646-6505 or (805) 656-5031.

All types of pet food, cat litter, pet supplies and laundry supplies are requested. Also needed are heavy-duty garbage cans with lids and bags, paper and office supplies, new computers, and horse supplies and feed.

The Humane Society is a nonprofit organization that does not receive federal, state or local tax dollars.
