Man allegedly threatened to 'shoot it out' with police
A Simi Valley man was arrested April 19 after a domestic dispute elevated into a short stand-off with police.
Logan Merritt, 30, was arrested on charges of domestic violence and possesion of a concealed loaded firearm in public.
At approximately 6:10 p.m. Sunday, Christine Merritt, 32, called police for help, according to police reports.
Christine Merritt reported that her husband had become increasingly violent during a verbal dispute and at one point armed himself with a gun and threatened to "shoot it out with the police."
She fled the house and found safety, police said.
As officers were setting a perimeter around the residence in the 5700 block of E.Bloomfield Street, Logan Merritt walked outside to the front of the house.
Officers ordered him to the ground at gunpoint and arrested him. Officers found a loaded .40caliber semiautomatic handgun in his pants pocket.
Inside the residence officers found a cache of weapons in various locations.
Logan Merritt was booked on $25,000 bail.
