Many have made Sinaloa Mural Project possible

I am writing in regards to Eliav Appelbaum's article about our volunteer group, Good Juju, which ran April 17.

I'm incredibly grateful to Mr. Appelbaum for the time he took in writing such a lovely story and to Ms. Iris Smoot, who came out to take some great photos of us in action as we worked on our mosaic mural at Sinaloa Middle School. Thank you very much.

I did, however, also want to extend some very well-deserved gratitude and credit to the other groups and individuals who have been a crucial part of the Sinaloa Mural Project.

First and foremost, we would like to thank the administration and staff at Sinaloa, who have been nothing but supportive about this project. If they hadn't believed in the volunteers, the project probably would not have become a reality.

PTSA President D'Lorah Wismar and the rest of the Sinaloa PTSA, who have come to work on the murals since work began in October, have been very dedicated and instrumental to the creation of these murals.

Also, we certainly could not have even begun this without the help and support of local community member Steve Hayes, who has been an activist for education and the arts for many years.

The Sinaloa Mural Project is a clear example of how people from all corners of the community have been able to come together and create something beautiful—they all deserve our thanks. Danica Selvaggio Simi Valley
