Walk for arthritis sufferers
Simi Valley/Moorpark Lions and Simi Valley Leo Clubs will partner with Rheumatology Associates for the 2009 Arthritis Walk on Sun., May 3 at Magic Mountain, 26101 Magic Mountain Parkway, Valencia.
The clubs will recruit friends and family members to raise funds to support research and programs in the prevention, control and cure of arthritis.
T-shirts will be given to all participants who raise $100 or more. Participants who raise at least $150 will receive free entry into the park following the walk. National prizes will be awarded starting at $200 in funds raised.
According to Arthritis Foundation in United States alone, more than 46 million adults and nearly 300,000 children are living with arthritis, the nation's most common cause of disability. Walking as little as 10 minutes three times a day can ease joint pain, improve mobility and reduce fatigue.
One in every five adult dogs in the U.S. is also affected by arthritis.
