Simi to host 'Pitch, Hit and Run' competition
Simi Valley Baseball League will host the local Aquafina "Pitch, Hit and Run" skills competition on Sun., April 5 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 3700 Royal Ave., Simi Valley.
The event is free for boys and girls ages 7 to 14 and is not limited to league players. Each player will throw six pitches for accuracy, attempt three hits and run a set distance around the bases. Participants will compete in their respective age brackets.
Winners in each category will advance to sectional competition. The section winners will advance to the national competition at Dodger Stadium against contestants from across the country.
Registration will be on the day of the event. All players must bring a copy of their birth certificate or baptismal record as proof of age at the time of registration.
A snack bar will be open for lunch and refreshments.
