Cops catch alleged gas station crook
A Mission Hills man was arrested last week after he allegedly broke into a Simi Valley gas station and then returned to the crime scene days later.
Christopher Pearlman, 43, was watched by Simi Valley police as he crossed the street toward the Mobil gas station at 2340 Kuehner Drive at 2:30 a.m. March 5.
Three days earlier, gas station security cameras recorded a male subject forcibly entering the store and stealing approximately $2,500 worth of property.
After detaining Pearlman, officers received a still photo of the subject scanned from the crime video directly to their incar computer. According to police, Pearlman was wearing the same clothes as the man on the tape.
Pearlman has been charged with burglary. While serving a search warrant at his Mission Hills residence, several items of property stolen from this and other crimes were recovered, police said. Marcy Linn, 50, who also lived at the residence, was arrested and charged with receiving stolen property.
