String of catalytic converter thefts reported in the region
      During the last two months, cities in Los Angeles and Ventura counties have experienced an increase in catalytic converter thefts from vehicles. Simi Valley police reported 17 such thefts between Jan. 14 and March 1.The crimes have occurred throughout the city in residential neighborhoods and with no discernable pattern.

Cops catch alleged gas station crook
      A Mission Hills man was arrested last week after he allegedly broke into a Simi Valley gas station and then returned to the crime scene days later. Christopher Pearlman, 43, was watched by Simi Valley police as he crossed the street toward the Mobil gas station at 2340 Kuehner Drive at 2:30 a.m. March 5.

      On March 4, a 24-year-old woman was arrested and charged with possession of narcotics at Morley and Heywood streets. In the 400 block of Bard Street, an 18-year-old man was arrested and charged with receiving stolen property March 4.
