A red, white and blue Lincoln birthday bash
California Lutheran University and the Ronald Reagan Foundation will present "Red, White and Blue: The Americana Experience," a tribute in honor of the bicentennial of the birth of Abraham Lincoln, on Thurs., March 26 at the Reagan Library, 40 Presidential Drive, Simi Valley.
The celebration will begin at 5:30 p.m. with tours of the library, including the Magna Carta exhibit, and the opportunity to stroll through a functional Revolutionary War town where vendors will display their wares, craftsmen will demonstrate their skills and the 33rd Regiment of foot soldiers will re-create their daily life.
A beverage reception will be held from 6 to 7:45 p.m. An optional dinner buffet will also be available during this time.
The CLU Wind Ensemble will perform a concert of 19th and 20th century works by American composers at 8 p.m. in the Air Force One Pavilion. The program will include Aaron Copland's "A Lincoln Portrait." CLU professor Daniel Geeting will conduct.
Tickets are $20 for the concert, tours and reception. Tickets that include the buffet are $48. Reservations are required.
