While it's advisable that people take this action to prevent unwanted solicitation, it is not true that all of the nation's cellphone numbers will be released to telemarketers en masse in the immediate future. The Federal Communications Commission has issued rules that prohibit telemarketers from using autodialers to call cellphones. Those rules have not changed.
