Royal High students honored for collecting 15,000 pounds of food for Ventura County FOOD Share
EFFORT REWARDED— NFL football player Keary Colbert, above at left, Royal High School student Katelyn Migliacci, and Colbert's mother, Berma, present history teacher Bob Ferguson, at right, with a trophy on behalf of FOOD Share and the NFL's 2008 "Tackle Hunger" food drive. Royal High students collected approximately 15,000 pounds of food for the regional food bank, placing them No. 1 out of the 72 Ventura County schools that participated. Ferguson's class collected the most food at the school. Pinecrest Schools, also in Simi Valley, was honored that afternoon as well for collecting the most food in the K-8 division.
