The Read at Moorpark College, a free monthly poetry reading, will take place from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Wed., Feb. 18 at the Moorpark College Library, third floor, 7075 Campus Road.

The event will feature the poetry and music of Dottie Grossman and Michael Vlatkovich. Acclaimed short story and poetry writer Kathryn Adams, Moorpark College Writing Center director, will also read.

An open mike will be available for local poets who want to try out new or old material on a friendly audience.

A poetry writing workshop will be held from 4 to 5 p.m. before the reading

The workshop and reading are free.
