Alcoa volunteers give $3,000 grant to Habitat
Matt Gilling of Habitat for Humanity of Ventura County recently received a $3,000 ACTION (Alcoans Coming Together In Our Neighborhoods) grant check from members of the Alcoa Fastening Systems volunteer team headed by Kevin Casey, director and general manager of the local Aloca facility in Simi Valley, on behalf of the Alcoa Foundation.
Gilling, representing Habitat for Humanity of Ventura County, presented the company with a certificate of appreciation thanking the volunteers for their support.
Aloca employees, friends and family members participated in the construction of three Simi Valley Habitat for Humanity homes during the annual Alcoa Worldwide Month of Service.
In 2008, 21,975 Alcoans participated in 699 service events around the word during the month of service.
