I was going to respond to the editorial on bicycles, but then I read Walt's letter: "GOP should back Obama on stimulus plan."

I am not a fan of the way the Republicans handled themselves when they had the reins or the way McCain has been a stumbling block to them when they try to do it right.

But Walt thinks the way to stimulate the economy is to do even more stupid things than the Republicans did.

If you read this package, the stimulus is mostly for pork and political payback. Could you explain to me how that will stimulate the economy?

There is an old adage that says, "When your outflow is more than your income, then your overhead will be your downfall."
