Speaker will address Social Security disability program

2009-01-30 / Health & Wellness

Simi Nar-Anon Family Group, a support group for families and friends of drug addicts, will meet at 7:30 p.m. Sat., Feb. 7 at Simi Valley United Methodist Church, room 10, 2394 Erringer Road.

Philip Lewis will speak about the process of obtaining financial support for a mentally ill family member through the Social Security disability program.

A large percentage of addicts have a co-occurring mental illness that often makes them unemployable even if they successfully deal with their addiction.

Lewis provides disability benefit representation through his company, Advocacy. He has a doctorate in psychology and a law degree.

The event is free, and reservations are not required.
