Humanitarian awards to be given out tonight at Mayor's Dinner
Fundraiser will benefit community foundation

The Simi Valley Community Foundation has announced the recipients of the 2008 Humanitarian Award, which will be presented at the fourth annual Mayor's Dinner and Charity Auction tonight, Oct. 3, at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library, 40 Presidential Drive, Simi Valley.

The honorees are: Barbara Frova, trustee for the Greater Los Angeles Chapter of the ALS Association; Joanne Abruzzese, director of East County services for The ARC of Ventura County; and Susan Myers, executive director of the Simi Valley Hospital Foundation.

Social hour and two silent auctions will begin at 6 p.m. Dinner will start at 7 p.m., followed by a live auction, which features a trip to Italy and other items; honorees' tribute; and live entertainment.

Mayor Paul Miller and his wife, Connie, will serve as hosts for the dinner.

Comedian Kathy Buckley and the Tony Maddox Band will provide entertainment. For the first time, a dance floor will be available.

Tickets are $125 per person, and proceeds from the event will help to support the Simi Valley Alliance for Human Services.

The Simi Valley Community Foundation is a nonprofit charitable foundation that supports social and human services in the local community.
