Simi Valley Days kicks off Wednesday

The 75th annual Simi Valley Days celebration begins Wed., Sept. 10 and runs through Sun., Sept. 14 at its new location, Rancho Simi Community Park, 1765 Royal Ave.

The theme is "From Pioneer Days to Simi Valley Days: 75 Years of Pride."

The festival will feature more than 60 merchant booths, hourly prize drawings, product demonstrations and contests such as the IDOLS Know the Lyrics contest and Guitar Hero.

Live entertainment includes local and regional bands, music such as zydeco, bluegrass and Latino blues, and headliner Billy Vera and the Beaters.

Admission is $6 adults, $3 children 4 to 12 and senior citizens 60 and older, and free for children 3 and under.

Carnival rides are an additional cost.
