Pet adoption event this Sunday in Camarillo

The Ventura County Camarillo Animal Shelter in partnership with Rescue Me Inc. will hold their fourth annual "DogGone, CataStrophic Hugs, Slurps and Slobbers" event from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Sunday, July 27 at the shelter, 600 Aviation Drive, Camarillo.

The event is free and will include a silent auction and raffle drawings, vendor and rescue organization booths, live music and pet adoptions.

Adopters will receive a free gift bag and vet visit, on-site reduced rate microchip/rabies vaccine and license.

Special guest will be Elliott Harvey MH, author of "The Healthy Wholistic Dog" and creator of Great Life Performance Pet Product. Comedian Elayne Boosler of Tails of Joy will also attend.

For the health and safety of all animals, the shelter requests that attendees do not bring pets.

Service animals and dayofevent adopted animals will be permitted.
