Old Simi Hospital building demolished

MAKING WAY FOR THE NEW- Penhall Company employees Armando Rocha, left, and Juan Garcia use fire hoses to keep down dust as heavy machinery is used to demolish the old Simi Valley Hospital building on Monday. Nearly all of the original hospital, which opened in 1965, is being torn down to make space for a 7,000-square-foot lobby, a chapel and a gift shop.
