PUPPY INSPECTION- Buddy, owned by Pat Lynn of Simi Valley, sniffs a 1.3-lb catfish caught by Charlie Youlio, 7, during the derby.
SMALL FRY- Derek Hill, 14, of Simi Valley holds up a stringer with the only fish he caught all morning, an anchovy used for bait.
BEST IN DERBY- Christopher Jones, 2, carries his trophy for first place in the Heaviest Catfish division. Christopher's catfish weighed 3.9-lbs.
