Drivers in Simi are like drivers everywhere- bad

I think that drivers in Simi Valley are the same as they are everywhere now- often distracted and in a hurry without concern for those in their way.

As we have grown as a community we have inherited the problems associated with a much larger city. The police can't be everywhere. The 118 is proof of that.

My morning commutes to Camarillo feel more like driving on a raceway than a freeway. There is not an officer in sight as idiots- mostly coming from the San Fernando Valley- see how fast they can drive.

Eighty miles an hour is the norm now, with racing in and out of traffic well over 90 miles an hour. Scary to say the least.

But the city streets are almost as bad, not necessarily for speed, but for drivers who ignore the rules of the road. Left turns against red lights, lane changes with no signal, stop signs and sometimes signals ignored, not to mention those that drive through crosswalks.

Unfortunately it is often some innocent driver or pedestrian who suffers the consequences for the negligence of others. The more the officers pull over, the better for all of us.
