University women will present modern adaptation of 'Cinderella'

The Simi Valley Branch of the Association of University Women will present a modern musical adaptation of "Cinderella," written by local teacher Cheryl Talbot, at its production of Children's Theater.

Performances will be held at Simi Elementary School, 2956 School St., Simi Valley.

Showtimes are 7 p.m. May 2, 3, 16 and 17. Matinees at 2 p.m. are May 3, 4, 17 and 18.

Tickets can be purchased at the door for $5. All money raised will support local scholarships.

The members of the women's group began Children's Theater in the 1970s to bring live theater to youth. The group first contracted with Moorpark College and then with the local high schools.

In the 1980s the members wanted to do their own plays.
