Public Health offers free quit-smoking program

Ventura County Public Health is sponsoring an eightweek session on how to quit smoking from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesdays through June 10 at the Community Medical Group, 612 E. Janss Road, Thousand Oaks.

The last day to join is Tuesday, April 29.

There is no cost to attend, and participants are eligible to receive the patch, Nicorette gum and lozenges for free.

The sessions will cover such topics as smoking triggers, developing a personal strategy, coping with stress and tension, preventing weight gain, finding alternatives and staying smoke-free.
