Meditation retreat scheduled

The OneSpirit Center for Conscious Living will sponsor an all-day Mindfulness and Meditation Retreat from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 10 at Underwood Family Farm Walnut Grove, 3370 Sunset Valley Road, Moorpark.

The retreat is titled "Discovering the pathway back to the place we never really left."

Retreat leaders are OneSpirit director and author Dr. Dennis Merritt Jones along with Dr. Mike Willis, chiropractor and American Indian.

According to event organizers, the retreat will "blend the traditions of the Native American sacred practices with Eastern mindfulness and meditation practices designed to help participants deepen a sense of connection with Mother Earth and the Presence of the Divine."

Attendees should bring a blanket, sack lunch and water and should dress in layers.

Tuition is $55 if paid by May 2 and $60 thereafter.
