'Full Monty' opens this month at arts center

The Simi Valley Cultural Arts Center presents the Americanized musical version of "The Full Monty" from Saturday, April 19 though May 25 at the arts center, 3050 Los Angeles Ave.

Show times are Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m.

The musical is based on the Academy Award-winning movie of the same name.

Six financially strapped steelworkers from Buffalo, NY become male strippers as a way to earn money.

Music and lyrics are by David Yazbek and book by Terrence McNally.

Fred Helsel and David Ralphe are co-directors, Seth Kamenow is choreographer, and Gary Poirot will serve as musical director for this production.

The show contains adult language and situations and is not recommended for children.

Tickets are $20 for adults and $16 for seniors and students.
