Neighborhood councils want new members
Have a say in the future of your community

The city of Simi Valley is accepting applications for Neighborhood Council Executive Board members. Vacancies exist on each of the four boards.

Applicants must be 18 years or older and Simi Valley residents. Members serve for twoyear terms from July 1, 2008 to June 30, 2010.

The Neighborhood Councils meet monthly to review development projects and community issues within the boards' respective boundaries. Following their reviews, the councils advise the City Council of their recommendations.

Typical items reviewed include development projects, traffic and public safety. Neighborhood Councils are also involved with community volunteer events such as the Arroyo Cleanup, Emergency Exposition and Coastal Cleanup Day.

Deadline for submitting applications is 5:30 p.m. Thursday, May 14.

For more information or an application form, call Mara Malch at (805) 583-6756.
