Youth can audition to be part of '08 Cajun festival

Cali Gymnastics and Simi Sunrise Rotary will host auditions for children ages 17 and under from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, April 5 at Cali Gymnastics, 2175 Agate Court, Simi Valley.

The auditions are for the inaugural "Talent Search," part of the Cajun Creole Musical Festival held during Memorial Day weekend (May 23-26).

All participants who audition will receive a certificate from local merchants. Winners of the talent search will receive prizes and the chance to perform their talent in front of thousands of festival attendees who will then vote for their favorite talent.

An adult must accompany all participants. The "talent" must be portable, that is, any props or musical instruments used must be easy to transport. Audio equipment will be available for participants.
